PS3 and Xbox only i am afraid :(

was playing it more last night on multiplayer, fookin ell its a real laugh, but the standout moment was when my squad were under fire from heavy arty, running through houses ,the whole place is falling apart, debris bit of trees ,everything just blowing up around us,so we sneak into a house and try to get a look at where the arty is coming from, next thing i know ,the wall infront of me collapses and i am looking into the barrel of a tank !!!

I have never seen a full squad run as fast as i did on that night ,i didnt make it :(

For a console game though first impressions are really really good,Mcphil, remember what we were talking about over the emergence of consoles and their effect on the gaming pc market, this is a prime example, the gfx are really good, bigger play areas and to run something like this on a pc you would need a £1k plus machine, the new crysis is a prime example.

wish i could show you the stuff we did,but if u've got a ps3 or x360 go download the demo right now and "JOIN ME ON THE BATTLEFIELD SOLDIER"...when i get back from me grans :(

anyway a few pics..

Oh..rumour,i heard that they may release a dedicated server for the pc,which means we will be able to host some servers, seems a bit strange but i will look into it.

It may be the first PS3 game i buy !!

outlaw, how do you get on with using a ps3 controller for these sort of games? I feel when I get one I am going to have a nightmare trying to use it, after using a keyboard and mouse for so long.

You do get used to it,and it does feel easier after a while but sometimes there are times which you get shot and u think if i had mouse and keyboard i woulda killed them first...but i dont use a joypad ,i use this..

And it fookin works great !!

WOAH! I gotta try this. I'm guessing 5min into the game there's no buildings left standing

Naw,it only certain walls as if they made everything destructible ,the amount of firepower on the map would leave the landscape really really bare with nowhere to hide.

Been playing more of it now, opened up a new gun and sniper rifle, and u do feel they are different from the stock ones, les recoil, more damage, faster reload on the bolt action sniper rifle,i am really enjoying it.

Last night,i was playing as a recon, took myself high into the hills to see what what the enemy were doing and i noticed that they were laying antitank mines through this narrow path which our tanks had to go through to the next spawn point.I had to do something,so i started to shoot the mines with my n95 sniper rifle, next thing i know, they explode, which brings out more engineers to try and re plant them,i then took them out with my sniper rifle and our tanks pounded through and took the spawn !!

I am looking at getting a ps3 soon and this was my worry. I can't even play with a mouse let alone a ps3 game pad!

Nice review of the game.

I do have to say though even though the gameplay is good the front end is a bit clunky.
If you are used to pc shooters you'll find a few things limiting most of which i am gonna tell you about.

First, cannot configure my keys (or at least i havent found a way to do it.)i want my run and crouch to be swapped but cant, its a pain but i can live with it.

Next, cant browse servers,i just get put into the first one
with the best ping..not good as my next point will show.

I joined a server jsut as people were leaving,i didnt know they were leaving as there is no message,so i ended up with 3 people on my side vs 11.

No option to switch sides, very bad idea,no auto balance ,you can understand the problems.

Cant host,i can understand as they have 24 ply servers but please let me host a little 5v5 or something, My connection can take it !

No mute players, holy frickin shite, how many times do i have to hear 14 year old boys scream !
(then again some of you are into that :P)

You join a squad automatically, you cant pick or choose,i think you can create one but am gonna have to look into that.

These are my main gripes, and if it wasnt for the fact that its so much fun i wouldnt bother with it.But it is fun ,real good fun and these problems although are problems, i can live with as the game more than makes up for it.

I woulda though DICE would have thought of theses things along time ago given their experience with the pc side of things.

i may read the manual and checkup a few things,if i see any amendments i'll edit the post.

Well no doubt as these things pop up patches will solve some problems, they have a tendency to sort these out AFTER its been officially released for some reason ;)

COD4 wasnt muted to start with but thank feck it has been sorted....i cant remember the amount of times some little tosser would play hardcore music whilst playing the game and we all had to listen.

Im hoping its going to be a laugh, one thing i wasnt so keen on having looked at some of the vids was the amount of time it takes to kill someone....even with the MG you can fire like 200 bullets into someone and they are still running around......i guess im too used to hardcore mode on COD4 :D
