PS3 exclusive FIFA 09 mode to be unveiled at Leipzig

An update at the Fifa Soccer blog has revealed that the PS3's exclusive game mode in FIFA 09 will be announced at the upcoming Leipzig Games convention. Any ideas as to what this mode could be?

FIFA 09 demo details revealed, released Sept 11

It has been revealed that the PS3 and Xbox 360 demo's of FIFA 09 will be available on September 11th. The six teams playable are Marseille, Schalke, Real Madrid, Chelsea, AC Milan and Toronto FC. While the new Wembley stadium is featured on the Xbox 360, the PS3 gets the FIWC stadium.

The online availability will be Sept 11.

For PS3 and 360 we’ll have a full exhibition match with the following 6 teams available. If the match ends in a draw, it will go directly to penalties.

6. Toronto FC

The demo features ‘increased accessibility’ (i.e. better flow for setting up matches) as part of the EA Sports focus on letting new players into our games. The player can also practice in the Arena and view tips on basic or advanced gameplay techniques.

Both versions unveil the new Team Management feature: Custom Tactics, giving the player a chance to sample tactical options in each of the key categories (Build Up, Chance Creation, and Defence).

The Playstation 3 demo features the FIWC Stadium, while 360 features New Wembley.

Seabass: FIFA is trying to copy PES, we used criticism of PES 2008 to motivate us

Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka has revealed it is true that PES 2008 was not Konami's ideal next gen title what with the online issues and slow-down in game. However, they took those criticisms positively and say that these motivated them for PES 2009. Seabass also revealed a though that EA are trying to implement a lot of things that the PES series does.

Seabass: I'm reluctant to say but you're right about the criticism we received. It wasn't our ideal next-gen title -- there were online issues and slow-down in the game. But we used those criticisms to motivate us for PES 2009 and spent a lot of time solving these issues. I think we've managed to erase most of the problems in the final version of the game. Looking back, the steps we took with PES 2 and PES 3 -- they were very revolutionary, and I believe they are the kind of steps we should take each year. This year I'm quite confident we've created a game that's revolutionary compared to last year.
