Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 developer Infinity Ward has outlined the features specific to the PC version of the game and reiterated its commitment to PC gamers and the PC platform.

Community manager Robert Bowling took to the Call of Duty forum to answer a number of questions relating to the PC version of the FPS.

"We value the PC player and have gone to great lengths in providing a more rich experience for our players," he said. "We keep our ear near the ground and try to deliver items most requested.

"The big feature for MW3 we are supporting is Dedicated Servers, this includes a server browser, voting, RCON, and more.

"Lastly we are embracing the Steam platform by integrating fully with Steam including friends list, Steam achievements."

Bowling said MW3 will allow PC gamers to tweak the game's visuals. Options include enabling and disabling new rendering features, such as SSAO. You can also modify DOF, Shadows, Anti-Aliasing, Texture Resolution and more.

"We do wide testing across all tiers of PC," Bowling revealed. "In our office we have an old min spec machine that receives just as much care as our top tier PC. We've also engaged the hardware manufactures for wider compatibility testing for us to ensure an optimised bug free launch."

Bowling also addressed the thorny issue of cheating, rampant in previous Modern Warfare games.

"Security is a major focus for Modern Warfare 3, especially coming out of Modern Warfare 2," he said. "We will be utilizing multiple methods of Anti-cheat and Security methods, including Steam's VAC system, CEG, and our own propriety methods implemented to provide multiple layers of defence in keeping online multiplayer fun, fair, and secure for all players without limiting the control they expect on PC."

From what i am hearing ,the dedicated servers are not ranked, to join a ranked server you have to use the P2P method.

Whats the fookin' point then ?

It's not been confirmed yet but it's looking likely.

Don't quote me on this, but there may be a chance the dedi option will be enabled to allow ranked servers. Multiplay were only given sample code after launch and aren't too happy with it's current bugs so who knows.

I wouldn't mind but if it had proper ded servers the game would be great, all the shitty glitches from MW2 have been cleaned up.

single player is awsome the story is gripping and keeps you on edge of seat but you just know multiplayer will be full of kids and fanboys

Tell me about it, Vladimir Makarov is one of the coolest villains ever. Have you tried the Spec Ops yet? There brilliant.

As for MP, luckily I have had great games so far. No noob tactics, glitches or annoying little kids. I'm on the PC version though. The new gamemode Kill Confirmed is brilliant.

No Dedicated server, no thanks, anyway, comparing BF3 to MW3 i am enjoying BF3 more, i havent got MW3 but i have played the others and it doesn't look like it's changed much.
