NVIDIA’s GeForce GF100 Under the Microscope
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/ha ... scope.html
Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been talking about and showing off our next-generation GPU—GF100. Today, there are quite a number of stories about the architecture that makes GF100 the world’s fastest and most innovative consumer GPU ever built.
Yes, we wish we had been able to launch products based on GF100 sooner, and we look forward to bringing them to market a little later in Q1. But, make no mistake about it--GF100 is the real game-changer. We’ve done more than just tack on DX11 to an existing architecture. GF100 represents almost five years of engineering development, and delivers a totally new innovative architecture that provides enormous strides in Geometry, Tessellation and Scalability. All combining to create the best GPU we have ever built.
Press coverage has really been exciting, with everyone anxious to take GF100 for a spin in their labs. We can’t wait for that to happen too! In the meantime, we’d encourage you to check out some of the in-depth stories about our new architecture that detail the important steps we have made to ensure GF100 is the best platform for PC gaming, today and tomorrow.
Here's what they had to say:
“The true potential of the GF100 is simply mind-boggling.”

“All the more impressive is the eight times better geometric performance. More triangles per second means that game developers can use more complex models and the game worlds become more realistic. Perhaps we will see games with Hollywood-like quality in the near future.”

“Personally I feel that SuperSonic Rocket Sled is the best demo NVIDIA has ever made. We've seen and done all the facial animations, dusks, dawns and what not. What you are seeing with the SuperSonic Sled demo is pretty amazing as the demo is very rich in objects, triangle count, quality textures, complex shaders, depth of field, but more so massive volumetric particles and liquid PhysX implementations and very rich geometric detail thanks to the hardware tessellation functionality embedded into the GF100 GPU. So from a technology point of view, this is the most advanced demo NVIDIA has ever designed.”

“With more geometry power, NVIDIA can use tessellation and displacement mapping to generate more complex characters, objects, and scenery than [the competition] can at the same level of performance.”

“The setup with 4 engines, the new memory subsystem and all changes made to the "compute" are on paper the strengths of this architecture and, in absolute terms, significant advances in the evolution of the GPU.”

“NVIDIA [GF100] is an impressive engineering monument…”
