Obama Moves Closer To USA Democratic Nomination

Postby [SCUM] McPhil » 07 May 2008, 14:09

Wednesday, May 7, 2008. Barack Obama beat rival Hillary Clinton in North Carolina on Tuesday, moving a step closer to securing the Democratic presidential nomination.

Obama, a 46-year-old Illinois senator who would be the first black U.S. president, beat Clinton by 14% points in North Carolina to move closer to the required 2,025 delegates needed to clinch the nomination at the party's August convention.

Indiana and North Carolina, with a combined 187 delegates to the convention at stake, were the biggest prizes left in the race. There are total 217 delegate points up for grabs in the remaining six states. On a lesser note, Obama won Guam for 4 delegate points.

Obama has an almost unassailable lead in pledged delegates who will help select the Democratic nominee for President of the USA. A CNN count gave Obama 1,836 total delegates to Clinton's 1,681 after Tuesday's contests. Clinton statistically can not over come Obama's lead in delegates.

Commentary: Clinton should bow out of the race and publicly support Obama and begin the attack against Grandpa McCain, the 72 year old Republican Nominee for President.
