Pain in the arse internet speeds
Recently I've had problems with web page loading times. Now, first of all I checked my internet speed out with several tests. All giving this or close to this result:

This is correct btw, it's my parents house so I've never really got around to making them get the upgrade.
So it appears that everything is fine and this is reflected too when I'm downloading, my speeds are maxed out. However, trying to load web pages? Different story altogether. Scum can take up to 20 seconds and a few refresh attempts before I get just one glimpse of the site. Youtube and google are the same, with youtube videos constantly having to refresh even when on normal quality. So basically, everything works fine, EVEN DOWNLOADING THROUGH FIREFOX, unless I'm just browsing or watching videos. Then suddenly everything goes to pot.
Ideas?

Maybe not a net speed problem but maybe CPU usage? What browser you using? Opera? If so - does it actually show low speeds on the expanded loading bar?

firefox - checked that but it's fine. I've got a feeling now my ethernet cable has a loose head, going out tomorrow to get some heads and rewire them.
"hey, I need some head for my cable"
