Half of the last nineteen administrations had a situation where the VP had to assume Presidential responsibilities or complete control - scary if McCain won and unfortunately passed away

Well that age isn't really an issue - my grandparents are almost 80 and fitter than me - and that is in an ex-communist country. McCain being a millionaire I'd expect him to have top notch healthcare. Its more the issue of the 4 times he's had melanoma.
