same here got a 4850x2 and frame rates are awful plus cant find any servers. I can log in but no servers on list and can not join quick play nice one EA

Until the pbsetup updates to a version that supports BC2 just manually use this:

You need to grab both files. Put the manually in:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\pb\htm

drag and drop, and overwrite the existing files. PB problem solved. PB will have the pbsetup updater fixed in about 7 days.

I have to turn off my router Firewall to be able to connect to a game.

i got on LoC server. killed someone and the round finished :P
so i got a 100% kill/death
couldnt get on ours
my grafix are crap. keeps crashing/freezing/ with white screens
the countryside shimmers

Basically the release of this game has been one utter F^&%$ up!

There are so many bugs with this game it is unreal since when do you have to tweak everything in site to get it to run? I ghave wasted at least 3 hours now messing around with everything.

I'm afraid EA's back end Plasma has died causing all BC2 servers to empty / crash.

Servers currently down will be unable to restart until Plasma is back up and running

We have just patched all our Bad Company 2 servers to R5 which is expected to fix some of the issues present in R4. More information about what it fixes when we have it.


Update @ 17:55: Another update / restart I'm afraid, sorry but we need to get these updates rolled out ASAP so you have as many fixes before this weekend ;-)


Update @ 19:24: We've just applied a update which fixes servers with invalid server names, cause by broken command line parsing in the current BC2 servers, all effected servers will have been restarted

Probable fix for some of the "Connection server has been lost" issues that happen when connecting
Game servers will connect to dedicated gateways to EA's master servers

But apart from last night,i've had no problems at all connecting.

I'm not sure if this has been said yet but you must uninstall the BC2 beta BEFORE you install the retail version or EA states you may have errors in game and PB patches.

i did this

i played single player
still got the white screens but just left it. the did carry on ( its like it has to catch up b4 it will carry on )
got to the satellite part but couldnt see the chopper to shoot it :P

windows XP. upto date
X1900 card, latest catdrivers ( this is min on the game spec :( )
i am looking at getting new Sapphire Radeon 5770 Vapor-X 1GB edition.
that is what mcphil stated earlier :P
