Re: New system
The Acer - holy fook that thing looks insane - though it looks VERY expensive for whats inside.
The Dell looks like the better choice - i7, 6gb DDR3 RAM etc.
Where's McPhil?

Re: New system
that new addition looks shit for the price, the cpu and gfx card cost about £200,makes me wonder where the rest of the money is goin...i wouldnt touch that one
the gfx card on that Acer is about £60 tops now and the gfx card in the other one is a nvidia gt220 for the money you got ,there's not much choice in terms of gaming as you could build the equivillent of those pcs for under £400,can you sell the pc credit to someone who wants one,say give them the credit for 600-700 quid ?

Lol nah, I'd be too scared to get riped off, I'll get the dell and just get a new graph card sooner rather than later

*WARNING* Do Not Buy A Dell for Gaming. Do Not Buy A Dell for anything other than propping the door open for when it's hot.
Custom built is the only way to go for gaming PC. They perform SOOOOOOO much better.

Re: New system
i already know that building my pc would be better but i can only get the parts from dsgi as thats who the voucher is from, i had a look earlier today with a friend and unfortunately they dont do decent parts for any sort of reasonable price, and dont do ddr3 ram, only ddr2 and i cant b arsed waiting on them getting ddr3 ram in only for them to stick a stupidly high price tag on it, they do some semi-decent other parts, but ill prob buy This and then stick in a better graph card sometime soon-ish, the ati 5570 isnt too bad, i should b able to play the latest games just not on high settings (med to med-high miby)

I couldn't guarantee it wouldn't catch fire in this situation.

Re: New system
ATI Radeon HD 5500 Series isn't that great m8. Look at least the Radeon HD 5700 Series. About 14 people I know including myself have put one in their gaming PC or work PC and they (I) can play BC2 with setting on High and AAx16.
The Sapphire Vapor-X brand can't be beat at this point in time.

Re: New system
On a budget, always go with a high-end motherboard because upgrading your motherboard is a horrible task. Go with an entry-level CPU, decent memory, decent hard drive (smaller = faster), right now ATI is the only graphics processor manufacturer that is DirectX compliant so going with Windows 7 premium and an ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series is a great performance compromise and will save you money now without a noticeable loss of performance. Go with a steal case which will provide you more stability, doesn't warp when heated, and lower vibration from the fans.

That answer your question Miginty? I think Leroy went with some standard DIMMs too so with a 900 budget you could even spring for some gaming memory with the fancy latency timings.
