Yes, yes, and yes. Just sort of bore with games at the moment. Weather is too nice right now. You'll see everyone more when they've had enough of the sun.

How's your break from uni?

awesome, and I gathered that playtime would be a bit low but ill live, will have to install all my old games and patch them all to hell, so that will take a while lol, and breaks going not 2 bad, was trying to get a job but nobody wants me :mad: start uni again sometime between sept and oct so thatl b fun, 3rd year WOO :).

I know you'll be dissapointed mcphil but I went with the dell system, simply cos it had the best specs, just praying nothing breaks on it, and do you know any recorder programs other than fraps so I can get my machinima going, dont fancy paying $37 for a program

I played it till i reached the level cap and then never went back,pity as the game has potential but i still feel that its a cut down version of BC 2.

There's no Destruction as such ,you can hide behind a wooden fence and not take any damage from a RPG.

I did enjoy the mixed mission more far more than tdm but the problem once again is that if you are on the attack and most of your team are snipers then you will lose.

The biggest problem for me was the hackers,in the last few weeks almost every server has had them as there is no admin or PB running so,it's not unusual for just one person to ruin the whole experience.

As a whole though it was fun,just because of the mixed mode map.

anyway,add me if you can..

Only problem is that I dont have a monitor set up right as im using my 32" tv which is currently like 3ft in front of me so i'll be blind before this day is out.
I will try to use my old crt monitors but the big n chunky so i'll need to find room for them :D but still....im finaly back onto pc gaming after 4 years WWWOOOOO, can anyone think of a good (free) recording program like fraps?

AAARRRGGHHH im tearing my sodding hair out, when i try to run bf2 it comes up with the message
"windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item",

this happened after the 1st time i tried to patch it to 1.41, it worked fine once I installed it, patched it, then it broke, so i uninstalled it completley and tried again, now it wont even run when I first intall it WTF help :(

Mig,

I remember that old one its a dodgy patch! where did you get it from? try file planet and ensure you patch in the right order :)

I haven't played a game for months now, so busy with work and actually not ashamed to say this spending more time with the family and our new dog.... Lab/Spaniel cross

hope you are all well and life is treating you well! we need a scum BBQ, we never did pull that one off.

oh dear jesus the things gorgeous :), and I got the patch from links that were on the battlefield blog, Im not sure what the problem is;

I installed it, then ran it...worked fine.

patched it to 1.41.... problem.

tried patching to 1.5 just incase was just somthing wonky-problem still there

uninstall and delete folder, reinstall and go to run and problem is still there.

no matter what I try, uac, def, permissions, it still comes up with the message;

<--Title--> C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe

<--Actual message--> Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.
You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

The funny thing is, when i right click and go into "previous versions" can make it run an older patch, and when I tried the pc in safe mode it ran it appart from it said I didnt have directx 9 on my system which I do, iv got DX11 (so downloaded newest dx file from microsoft.com...didnt change anything).
and to boot, now each time I reinstall bf2 it comes up at the end with the message "%p could not install directx 9" or somthing like that, an I just the most unlucky guy on the planet :( :( :( or am I retarded :S :S :S

EDIT *ADDITION*

I have 2 patches, 1.41 at 549MB and 1.50 at 2GB
and hell yea I say we find someplace to meet even just for a drink or even a lan party :D

sorry to be a forum newb as I can't go back and read but what are your system specs? Video card specifically? There are certain video cards that don't work with BC2 and I'm worried you have one of those. Otherwise, is your PC a fresh OS install or was it "on the shelf" for a bit of time? Nothing wrong with that, but might need a fresh OS install is all. Let me know your sys specs.
