Temp Banned......why?

Um.....hey.....I was playing on your server tonight and got temp-banned for no apparrent reason - I remember making a joke about a chav server someone mentioned (not referring to the SCUM server of course) but apart from that I really dont see why I was banned - no warnings or anything were given and as far as I can tell I was following the server rules

oh yeah it gets even better - I was just now kicked and told to "stop mouthing off" repeatedly by McPhil for merely asking why I was banned - any ideas?

PERMANENTLY BANNED - for what reason? for asking why I was temp banned - just seems a bit odd to me .....

From my understanding of the events, I think this is all a MISunderstanding. I vaguely remember nymph mentioning someone elses server to be a chav server. To which you responded with something else along the same lines. McPhil saw this 2nd comment, totally misconstrued it and kicked you. You then came on, demanding to know the reason why. We told you to chill out and enjoy the game, but you refused, which is when McPhil banned you I guess.

From where I'm standing, it seems as though you should be unbanned and forget the whole thing. But it's phil that banned you so

You made the chav server comment and you were warned once to cut the BS and enjoy a good game. You refused to drop it so I gave you a 10 minute "time-out" to think about what is more important. You returned after your 10 minute holiday with no obvious intension to have a good game but to act like you had done no wrong and to make an exhibit of yourself on the server during prime gaming time with a full server. The server is never the place for a show such as that. For your convenience, we have provided this sections for all of your server concerns. Please review the server rules for your benefit. You were warned thrice over to drop it and have a good game. You chose not to drop it by stating you would not stop until you get answers. Thus concludes your PermaBan.

Again, for anyone who reads this - Any admin's word is final. Thusly, do not argue with admins in game. Ok - just to clarify what BS was I asked to cut? - after the chav comment I recieved no warning to cut any bs as far as I am aware (I may be wrong however, I just didnt notice anything)

I did return on the server after being temp-banned primarily to find out why I was temp banned - Ive read about accidental banning due to blackscreens etc. (ive read about them on this forum as well) and wanted to fix it if that were the case (last thing I need is being accused of hacking) - what I did not do was come on to the server to make an "exhibit" of myself, I was merely asking a question, I would have even been satisfied with an "I dont kno, post on the forums" as I have seen admins on this server do on the past but as I asked I was bombarded with "STOP MOUTHING OFF AND HAVE A GOOD GAME" - imo the "STOP MOUTHING OFF" type of comment is quite inflammatory and uneccessary and is bound to provoke anyone - again im not disputing the ban, just pointing out that the ban could have been prevented, I treat admins on servers with respect and its not much too ask for a modicum of it in return

as far as I was aware I had done no wrong, as previously stated I dont remember being asked to cut any BS, so I did not "act" as if I had done no wrong, I believed it - personally I dont see how my chav comment deserved a temp-ban but at the end of the day its your server so I wont dispute it

as far as being asked to drop it after said comment, I never got a chance to say anything else as I was immediately kicked and temp-banned, again not that im disputing this im just pointing out discrepancies in the recollection of events (that chat-logs should back me up on this, if cod has chat logs :/) - the only ocmment I was asked to drop was with regards to an answer on why I was banned and I would have dropped if I was given a bit more than the repeated use of a general 'silence trouble-maker' bind

My comments will probably jeporadise my un-banning which is a shame because I do enjoy playing on the server but I say these thingsfor my case and your benefit - ive adminned servers before (not for CoD4 but BF2 and the like) and have managed to give reasons to those who were banned in game most of the time and if not, ive always referred them to the forums, its part of an admins responsibility imho

Thanks for the support smokie on your post - it does seem to be a bit of a big mis-understanding on both sides and hope u guys udnerstand my eagerness to find out what I did wrong, MAYBE I was a bit pushy in finding out why but I dont think I was

I appreciate your willingness to possibly "admit" wrong doing, however - the bottom line is - when an admin asks you to drop something - just drop it. Any admin's word is final. Whether you started the comment or not remains to be seen however your text was noticed and you were asked to stop and you didn't. Your comments are fine in this thread as this is the place for them, as long as they remain on the cuff.

You admin your BF2 as you see fit. I don't want my games interrupted by people grandstanding on a server I help pay for and support, again, that's what this forum section is for.

You seem a right bloke and whether beers were involved or not, you still drew negative attention to yourself on a server where you were a visitor. If someone visits my house and they belittle my house or anyone in it, I'll show them the door. Always. Any good gaming community would do the same as I'm sure you would.
