Poll: 1 in 10 think Obama is Muslim
Ten percent of American voters believe Sen. Barack Obama is Muslim, despite the presidential candidate's frequent descriptions of his Christian faith and a high-profile flap over his former pastor.
The finding was contained in survey results released by the non-partisan Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.
While a majority — 53% — identify Obama as a Christian, 16% of conservative Republicans, 16% of white evangelical Protestants and 19% of rural Americans believe the Illinois senator is Muslim.
About a third of Americans said they don't know what Obama's religious beliefs are, and 9% of that group said it's because they've heard different information about his faith.
Confusion over the candidate's religion crosses party lines.
Fourteen percent of all Republicans, 10% of Democrats and 8% of independents think he's Muslim, according to the survey.
Nearly 80% of Americans said they had heard something about controversial sermon sound bites from Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that have been circulating in the media.

It's worse than that. Obama lost West Virginia and the exit poles showed in most of the smaller cities and towns that the people voted for Clinton because Obama was a some many things he's not. When you let the republican fear machine lie to you, you can get a largish portion of the population voting the way you want.
If only more people would take the time to go to http://www.barackobama.com/ and read. Then read other third party websites taking note who owns the website (what media group) and know if they are a conservative, liberal, progress, democratic, etc... funded website. You'll start to get a very good feeling for why the current administration does not want Obama to be the next President of the USA.
Have a listen here monday through friday. I've got Speedy hooked. Well funny political program based out of California: http://www.stephaniemiller.com/
Anyway, Obama's going to win. It's just all the silly things the republicans and the current administration are going to put him through until November '08. Sad but it must be done for the USA to take itself back again. We've been hijacked by our own president for 8 year. No more for me. I voted for change. I voted for hope. I'm voting for Obama in the general election in November. He will put the USA back on the right path.
The USA is the most hated country in the world because of a dumbass Texan who can't even complete a fecking thought from all the bong and cocaine resin clogging his brain. Obama will give the USA a respectable place in the international community again and make the USA respectable again.
