Twitter has its place and can be useful like Speedy says but like Facebook, people waste far too much time doing pointless crap (though this is just a shift from the traditional tradition of traditionally doing pointless crap face to face).

yeh well thats the reason whyi asked, im starting a project soon in which i will be using different API's, one such being the twitter API. im going to use it as a source of live info for different reasons. I just wanted to get a general idea of how many people (i know) that use it..

it doesnt seem to be many like! (think i need more friends )
