no but I heard they have hyped it up a bit too much and its not much better than the 2nd one.  Only what I have read mind.

single player is hyped too much can be finished in about 6 hours.... but the mutiplayer is very good i dont think ive left my room in about 3 weeks !!!

lol, not sure I could get the hang of the controller playing fps games if you know what I mean but I will hopefully get an xbox 360 in the next few months.  Unless the ps3 comes down in price that is

i thought that too herbs but after playing GOW u pick it up very quickly, prefer it to the ps3 to be honest i think the ps3 controller is too lightweight n small feels cheap imo.

Got a question for you mate, I see the new 360 elite (the black one) has a 120gb hd (I think) and the normal one has 20gb.  Is it really worth spending the extra to get the bigger hd?  I mean, having the 20gb does it fill up quick?

its gonna get heavier as rumble is being put back in...also you can put any sata 2.5" hd in the ps3 !

to be honest mate 20 gb is plenty for me i suppose it depends on what u will use it for the avg gamer will be fine with 20gb but saying that i wudnt mind the elite ... lol

good debate gents and I too am in two minds.  want to upgrade from the xbox console I like the look of Halo 3 as it was Halo 1 that made me buy the xbox to start with.  But have always thought the ps is far better represented when it comes to the games market.

Do you thing xbox360 has changed that or are the console makers still putting more effort into the ps3 ?

ok,you may think i am biased but,consider this,Halo 3 is considered to be the pinnacle of software dev for the 360,what trouble's me is that if it's reached the pinnacle already ,so much for a lifespan.

the ps3 on the other hand ,is only just starting to come out with good games ,COD4 for example ,from what i have been told the lifespan of the ps3 is supposed to be 8-10 years,i'd give it 5 more meself but it is a powerful machine.

one more point was that all the conversions from 360 to ps3 never used the hardware,ie the ps3 ran the code fully in software mode and did not use any of the cpus. i think thats why GTA 4 is causing rockstar so many headaches. we are finding that to do justice to the machine takes longer to develop.

It does remind me of the Atari ST/Amiga wars back in the day.Atari was out first and was very popular,then a year later,the amiga came ,more expensive and limited games. Developers took their time with the amiga and eventually it overran the ST.

I was pissed of as i had an ST and me cousin had an Amiga.

anyway,just a few thoughts from what i have seen ,and having played COD4 on PS3 i am really tempted to buy it as to do it justice on a pc would take an expensive rig.

XBox live is good,ps3 is slowly catching up with it,the matchmaking at the moment is basic but it has all the functions you want and need...i thought Live was a bit too cluttered.

Home on the other hand is a different story all together,full 3d enviroment,custom avatars of you,think of second life,plus your own space to show ur pics.

Simply...you have a house,you furnish it with what you want,show pic and movies stored on your ps3,then the trophy room have all your acheivements in glorious 3d...eg..you open up a new piece of artwork in a game...go to your homespace and you can mount the art on your wall.


Thinks theres gonna be homespaces for clans as well, huge mansions with members own rooms etc.

quiet ambitious and could be a distraction from playing the games !!

ok some good comments, but i have to say owning a xbox and a ps3 i find myself on the xbox all the time, dont get me wrong the ps3 does look better graphically, but no way is it 'slowly' catching up with xbox live as far as online experiances go... its miles behind xbox live is far more involving having acheivements for each game where u build up 'gamerscore' n thats a global score that u can compare with other players and can even compare games etc, i beleive it adds alot more to the lifespan of a game, as far as ps3 getting all the good games before with the ps2 n xbox i wud of agreed but to be honest now most games are out for both ps3 and xbox and where the ps3 beats it on looks the xbox beats it everytime on content and playability, rant over
