Atlus

Headquartered in Irvine, California, Atlus is a leading publisher of interactive software for major video game systems. Atlus is a privately held company and is a subsidiary of Atlus Co., Ltd. located in Tokyo, Japan.

Atlus U.S.A., Inc. was founded in 1991 as Asuka, an American branch of Atlus Co.,Ltd. with the stated mission of publishing high quality role-playing games for a North American audience. The localization of these titles became the most important facet of this mission statement, and the company gained a following within the gaming industry for its excellent translations and ability to "speak" to the audience in the North American market.

Atlus has published games for every major video game console and handheld system, including the Sony PlayStation®2, Nintendo DS™, Wii™, PlayStation® Portable, Game Boy® Advance, and Microsoft Xbox®.

Though Atlus has seen success with action titles such as Trauma Center: Under the Knife and Trauma Center: Second Opinion, it is best known for its library of classic role-playing games, including Ogre Battle, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Riviera: The Promised Land, and Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. The company's flagship RPG franchise is the Shin Megami Tensei series, which continues to innovate and challenge gamers with each new installment released.
